Alfonso is a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at UCL Institute of Education. He carries out ethnographic research looking at the relationship between language and the political economy, with a focus on migration and the links between language, work, and social inequality. He was trained in Switzerland at the University of Fribourg and the University of St. Gallen, and was a visiting PhD student at The University of Chicago.

 

Hannah Cowan

profile photoHannah is a PhD student at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is currently carrying out an ethnography on the policy reforms of the NHS and is interested in the ways in which political decisions play out in people’s day to day lives. She was trained in sociology at The University of Cambridge and global public health at Queen Mary University, London.
